Say hi to the new girl in town! The Mustard Seed Necklace reminds me of my mom who used to wear a necklace very similar to this one all the time.
Meant to look like a little seed, this dainty necklace was created with Matthew 17:20 in mind, "For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."
A mustard seed is tiny, but it grows into a big plant reminding us that it’s not the size of our faith that matters, but who we put our faith in.
This Bible passage comes from when the disciples were unable to cast out a demon. Jesus rebuked them and said that they had the wrong faith - they weren’t praying as they worked. Bible study suggests that they were putting their faith in themselves instead of God, or not casting out demons by praying, but using only their own words and ideas.
I’m guilty of putting my faith in my own “good works” instead of in Jesus! It’s easy to feel as though we’re trusting God when we’re actually feeling powerful because we do regular quiet time, or know lots of Scripture. But truly, it’s not about what we do, it’s who we put our faith in. As you wear this necklace, I hope it will remind you to put your hope in Jesus.
A precious drop necklace to remind you the great power that faith in Christ offers. Let's pray for an ever-increasing heart of faith as we run our race this side of Eternity!
