Horatio Spafford, the author of this beloved hymn, knows tragedy. His two year old son passed away and the Great Chicago Fire ruined him financially. Soon after, all four of his daughters died on a sinking ship traveling to Europe. His wife survived and sent him the telegram, "Saved alone …". It was then, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, that he wrote these beloved words we sing.
Like Spafford, we too may know the highest highs and the lowest lows. I designed this necklace with movement and contrasting color, like being out on a peaceful river at sunset versus a dark stormy ocean. Whatever our lot, we can rest in the arms of God- like the swoop in the necklace- knowing it is well with our souls.
I pray you wear this and find yourself humming sweet truth and worship all day long.
